Spano Foundation Grant Award Provides School Supplies!

The Niles City School District is grateful to the Anthony V. Spano Foundation for their donation of school supplies to Niles Intermediate School. In early November, members of the foundation dropped off multiple boxes of supplies, which included pens, pencils, notebooks, binders, markers, highlighters, crayons, colored pencils, and other needed items. NIS plans to distribute supplies across all buildings in the district.

According to its website, the School Supplies Fund was established by the Anthony V. Spano Foundation of Youngstown, Ohio to help primary and secondary school teachers purchase much-needed classroom supplies. Those districts interested in receiving supplies must submit a grant application to the foundation for consideration.

NIS teacher Mrs. Morton was instrumental in securing the donation for the district and expressed her gratitude after receiving the supplies. "We are extremely grateful for this generous donation of school supplies from the Spano Foundation,” she says. “These items will help so many of our students with their pursuit of success in the classroom. Thank you!"
