Information on Bed Bugs

We recently found a confirmed bed bug in one of the classrooms in your child’s school.  Finding a bed bug does not mean that our school building is infested. Bed bugs are brought into buildings on personal belongings. They are efficient hitchhikers and are usually transmitted from one location to another in backpacks, clothing, luggage, books and other items.

Please know that our school district always works to identify pests, provide thorough inspections of schools and have licensed pest control specialists treat rooms as appropriate.

Click here for a A Bed Bugs in Schools Guidance for Parents fact sheet. One will be coming home with your student explaining how to prevent bed bugs from coming home as well as how to help keep them out of school.

Further information on preventing bed bugs are available on the following websites
