The Niles City School District is pleased to announce that all students in grades preschool through twelve will have access to FREE breakfast and lunch meals throughout the 2024-25 school year. The initiative, which begins the first day of school, August 21, 2024, ensures that every student receives nutritious breakfast and lunch daily, supporting their academic success and overall well-being.
“The opportunity to provide free meals to all Niles City Schools students is an important step toward developing a healthy learning environment,” says district Superintendent, Ann Marie Thigpen. “This program is a vital component of our commitment to our students and their families.”
While students in both Niles Primary and Niles Intermediate already receive free meals at school, the inclusion of all Niles Middle School and Niles McKinley High School students is possible through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), a program designed to help districts that meet certain criteria serve no-cost meals to all students.
