Niles student named finalist in youth entrepreneurship competition
Niles Middle School student Olivia Borodziuk has been named a top 40 finalist in the Young Entrepreneur Institute’s Selling Bee contest.

Borodziuk, who is part of the Trumbull County Educational Service Center’s STEAM program, recently competed in STEAM’s "Shark Tank" challenge with classmate Savanna Court.  Borodziuk and Court, along with other STEAM students, had to come up with a product idea and pitch it to STEAM instructors. Borodziuk and Court created The Locker Gadget, which is a magnetic locker organizer that has two pockets for books and one pocket for art supplies.

After the initial pitch at STEAM, some students decided to submit their ideas to the Young Entrepreneur Institute's Selling Bee contest.  Borodziuk’s submission earned her a spot in the Young Entrepreneur Institute’s online contest.  From December 5 through December 9, people will be able to vote one time per day for their favorite product idea/video pitch at www.sellingbee.buzz.
